Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust Rangers and volunteers were today trained how to undertake biosecurity measures, surveillance and incursion response to keep the islands free of rats. We learnt how to set out a monitoring grid around a potential incursion site, how to carry out monthly monitoring checks and what to do in the event of a rat being sighted. More training will be provided soon to refresh the training for the local community volunteers.
